We are a growing website design firm with the need for external resources. We are not looking to hire a full time employee on site but we do have work that needs to get completed. We are finding ourselves doing more and more sales activity and having little time left to get the work completed. This is why we are posting this job opening. It will initially be on an as needed basis. As the candidate frees up more of our time to sell more design work the number of hours will also increase, possibly even to full time at one point in the future.
Some requirements:
We are looking for a jack of all trades, we need someone that can use adobe Photoshop, Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. They do not need to be a total master in each area but at the least familiar and able to use them proficiently.
Ecommerce – We currently have clients that have oscommerce websites that need occasional design changes, items added to the cart and other maintenance. We would like the candidate to have experience in this area as well. If you are familiar with Magento this would also be a plus
PHP – We use .php extensions on all of our designs. We design with common header, footer and navigation structure unless there is some mitigating reason not to. The candidate would need to be familiar with php, not to write raw code, but to makes tweaks as needed.
CMS – Experience with wordpress and Joomla layouts and design.
MUST fluently speak English and be available for phone calls and other communications between the hours 8 AM – 6 PM EST (New York Time). While we do not expect the candidate to be at our beckoning call during these hours we do need someone with a reasonable response time.
Deadlines – Must meet our deadlines, while we do not expect websites to be designed and laid out overnight we will state in work that we send to you when we need it by. Before you begin we need acknowledgement to the fact that you can meet the deadline. If you cannot it does not mean you will not get the work, it just means we need to talk and come to a consensus to meet the client’s needs as well.
